Full indictment lists 27 unique hate crime charges.
The mass shooter who killed 10 black people at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, pled not guilty to 27 federal hate crime charges this week. He was charged with premeditating and planning a racially motivated hate crime, 10 counts of hate crimes resulting in death, three counts of hate crimes involving a murder attempt, and 13 counts of using a firearm in a hate crime. The shooter also faces equal charges in state prosecution.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has not ruled out the death penalty, despite the moratorium he issued a year ago on federal executions. White House spokesperson Abdullah Hasan said President Biden supports the moratorium and but believes the Buffalo shooter must be held accountable for “the racially-motivated act of domestic terrorism.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the judge and attorneys as the case proceeds.
- For Attorney General Merrick Garland to seek God’s wisdom regarding capital punishment for violent hate crimes.
